This policy explains what information Bharat Alumni ("we", "us") collects when you use bharatalumni.org, why we collect it, and who can see it. We built this platform on a simple principle: nothing about you is shared with other alumni beyond what you explicitly choose to make visible.
To operate the directory, chapters, blood-donor matching, jobs, mentorship, events, and billing features you sign up for; to send transactional notifications (e.g. a blood-request match, a referral commission update); and to keep the platform secure.
Your directory listing (name, education, professional info) is visible to other signed-in alumni by default. Your phone number has its own visibility setting — Everyone, Alumni only, or Hidden — which you control from your profile at any time. Your exact location is never shared; only your city is shown, and blood-donor location matching happens without exposing your coordinates to other members.
We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and to remember a referral code if you arrived via a referral link. See our Cookie Policy for details.
We keep your account and profile data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
You can edit or remove most of your profile information yourself at any time from your account. To request a copy of your data, ask a correction, or ask for full account deletion, use the contact page.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
